Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

This policy explains what information the Roundhouse: Mexican Train app ("Roundhouse", "the app") and this website use, why, and the choices you have. Roundhouse is made by Quang Trung Nguyen, an individual developer based in Australia ("I", "me").

The short version

  • You don't sign in or create a profile. I don't ask for your name, email, or phone number.
  • Your games, scores, settings, and score sheets are stored on your device only.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google uses your device's advertising ID only if you allow tracking when iOS asks.
  • The app sends anonymous usage events (PostHog) and crash reports (Sentry) so I can fix problems and improve the game.
  • Your Daily Deal result is ranked against other players using a random anonymous ID. You can delete it in the app at any time.
  • If you send feedback, I keep your message (and any contact details you choose to add) for up to 12 months so I can read and answer it.
  • I don't sell your personal information.

1. Information stored on your device

Roundhouse keeps these on your iPhone or iPad:

Apart from the Daily Deal result described in section 5 and feedback you choose to send (section 6), this information is not sent to me or to anyone else. If you use iCloud or computer backups, your device's backup may include it, as it does for other apps; Apple handles those backups under your Apple account settings.

If you turn on Daily Deal reminders, the reminder is scheduled on your device. No server is involved.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Roundhouse is free because it shows ads. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which is run by Google LLC. When the app requests and shows an ad, Google's software in the app may collect:

Tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency). After you finish your first round, iOS may show a box asking whether Roundhouse can track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. The app plays exactly the same whatever you choose.

Depending on where you live, the app may also show a privacy message from Google with your ad choices. If it applies to you, you can reopen it in the app under Settings → Privacy choices.

Google uses this information under its own policies. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Ads in Roundhouse are limited to content rated suitable for general audiences. No ads appear in "Score my table".

3. Product analytics (PostHog)

The app sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, a product analytics service, so I can see how the game is used and what to improve. Examples: "game started" with the rules and number of players, "round ended" with the score and length, which settings were changed, whether an ad was shown, whether the tracking prompt was answered, and whether a feedback message was sent (never what it says).

4. Crash and hang reports (Sentry)

If the app crashes, freezes, or hits an error, it sends a diagnostic report to Sentry, an error-monitoring service. A report contains technical details such as the error, the part of the app where it happened, the app and iOS version, the device model, and the steps leading up to it in the app. Reports are not linked to your identity, and Sentry is set up not to store your IP address. I use them only to find and fix bugs.

5. Daily Deal ranking (Supabase)

When you finish a Daily Deal that counts, the app sends your result for that day (points left or turns taken, how long the game lasted, and a check value of the final position) to my database at Supabase, using a random anonymous account the app creates for this. In return it shows how your result compares with other players ("Top 8%"). No name, email or device identifier is attached.

6. Feedback messages

There is no support email address. Instead, you can send me a message with the feedback form in the app (Settings → Support → Send feedback) or on this website's Support page. Messages are stored in my database at Supabase so I can read and answer them. A message contains:

No advertising ID, Daily Deal account, or location is attached. Supabase processes your IP address to deliver the message and may keep it briefly in its service logs; it is not stored with your message. If you write a message in the app while offline, the app keeps it on your device and sends it when you are back online.

I use messages only to answer you and to improve Roundhouse. Messages are deleted automatically 12 months after they are sent. To have yours deleted sooner, send a request through the same form with the contact details you gave or a few words from your message, and I will delete it.

7. Age range (Apple's Declared Age Range)

Where the law requires it (for example in Texas), the app asks iOS for your age range (under 13, 13 to 17, or 18 and over), never your birth date. The answer is used on your device only to decide which ads you may see and whether the Daily Deal ranking is used: no ads and no ranking under 13, and only non-personalized ads with no tracking prompt from 13 to 17. It is not stored, sent to me, or shared.

8. What Roundhouse does not do

9. This website

roundhouse-mexican-train.pages.dev is a plain website with no cookies, no analytics, and no trackers. It is hosted by Cloudflare Pages, which processes standard technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. The only thing the site sends anywhere is a message you submit with the feedback form on the Support page, which goes straight to the database described in section 6.

10. Who receives information

Google AdMobShowing and measuring adsAdvertising ID (only if you allow tracking), device info, IP address and approximate location, ad interactions

These providers are located in, or process data in, the United States and other countries. I may also disclose information if the law requires it.

11. How long information is kept

12. Your choices

13. Your rights under US state privacy laws

Several US states, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others, give residents rights over their personal information. Depending on your state, these may include the right to:

I do not sell personal information for money. However, if you allow tracking, letting Google use your advertising ID to personalize ads may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some state laws. You can opt out at any time by choosing "Ask App Not to Track" (or turning tracking off in iOS Settings) and by using Settings → Privacy choices in the app. Global Privacy Control signals don't apply inside the app, but the options above have the same effect.

Because Roundhouse has no sign-in and keeps your game data on your device, most requests can be completed by you directly in the app. For anything else, send a request through the feedback form and include a way to reach you. I will respond within 45 days, may need to ask for information to understand your request, and will not charge you. If I can't complete a request, I will explain why, and you can appeal by sending a new message through the form that starts with "Appeal". If you are not satisfied with the appeal, you may contact your state attorney general. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your written permission.

Categories of personal information (California notice): identifiers (advertising ID, only with your permission; a random app identifier; a random Daily Deal account ID; IP address), internet and device activity (ad interactions, app usage events, diagnostics, Daily Deal results), approximate location (from IP address), and, only if you send feedback, the contents of your message and any contact details you include. Sources: your device, the app, and messages you send. Purposes: showing ads, analytics, fixing bugs, Daily Deal rankings, and answering your messages. No sensitive personal information is collected.

14. If you are outside the United States

Roundhouse is designed for players in the United States. If you use it elsewhere, for example in the United Kingdom, Google may ask for your consent before using your data for ads, and you have rights under your local law. The same feedback form works for every request.

15. Children

Roundhouse is a dominoes game for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where iOS tells the app a player is under 13, the app shows no ads and sends no Daily Deal results. Ads are limited to general-audience content. If you believe a child has provided personal information, for example in a feedback message, tell me through the feedback form and I will delete what I can.

16. Security

Information sent to the services above travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Feedback messages and Daily Deal results can't be read through the app's or the website's public access key; only I can read them. Your on-device game data is protected by your device's own security, such as your passcode.

17. Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently, for example by adding new online features, I will update this page and the effective date before the change goes live, and describe the change in the app's release notes.

18. Contact

Send a message with the feedback form on the Support page, or in the app at Settings → Support → Send feedback. Add a way to reach you if you'd like an answer.
