Common questions
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No account and no sign-in. You can play against the computer without an internet connection. Ads, the Daily Deal ranking, and sending feedback need a connection.
Is it really free? Are there coins or purchases?
Roundhouse is free with ads. There are no coins, no purchases, and nothing to unlock with money. Ads appear only at natural breaks (after you tap "Next round"), never on top of the board, and never in "Score my table".
The computer players seem lucky. Do they cheat?
No. Every player is dealt from the same shuffled set, and the skill level (Friendly, Savvy, Ace) only changes how well a computer player chooses its tiles. After every round, all hands are shown face up so you can check.
Can I get a hint?
Yes. Tap Hint on your turn and Roundhouse suggests the move a strong player would make, and says why. You get three free hints in every game; after that, you can watch a short video for another. Hints are off in the Daily Deal so everyone's result is their own.
Can friends play on the same phone?
Yes. On the New game screen, change a seat from a computer player to Person and type their name. When it's their turn, the app asks you to hand them the phone, and everyone else's tiles stay face down. Pass-and-play games don't count toward your stats.
That's not how we play at home. Can I change the rules?
Yes. When you set up a new game, pick a starting set of rules (Classic, Box rules, Family Relaxed or Club) and open Table rules to change individual rules. Box rules follows the rule sheet that comes with many boxed domino sets: one tile per turn and up to two doubles in a turn. You can save your choices as your own house rules. See all the house rule options.
The tiles are hard to read. What can I change?
Open Settings. Under Tiles you can pick Medium, Large or Extra large tiles, switch the dots from colored to black like a classic set, or show numbers on the tiles instead of dots. Under Table and text you can choose a dark, light or High contrast table and turn on the Easy-Read font (Atkinson Hyperlegible), which makes letters and numbers hard to mix up. The app also follows the text size you set in iOS Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size, and uses the high-contrast table when Increase Contrast is on.
Can I turn off the player pictures?
Yes. In Settings → Table and text, turn off Show player portraits to see each player's initials instead.
How do I keep score for a game with real tiles?
On the Home screen, tap Score my table, then New score sheet. Add your players and pick a double-12, double-15 or double-18 set. After each round, tap a player and either type their points or switch to Tiles and tap each tile left in their hand; Roundhouse adds them up. Prefer paper? Print our free large-print score sheet.
What is the Daily Deal, and what does "Top 12%" mean?
Once a day, everyone gets the same deal: one round with Classic rules, you against three Savvy computer players. Only your first game of the day counts toward your streak. Fewer points left in your hand is better; if you go out, fewer turns is better.
When you're online, your result is compared with everyone who played the same deal. "Top 12%" means your result is in the best 12% of everyone who played that deal, counting ties. The ranking uses a random anonymous ID, never your name. You can delete it at any time in Settings → Privacy → Delete my Daily Deal data.
How do I turn off sounds or vibration?
Open Settings in the app. Sounds and vibration have separate switches. Sounds also follow your iPhone's silent switch.
Why does the app ask about tracking?
After your first round, iOS may ask whether Roundhouse can track your activity for ads. The game is exactly the same whichever you choose. If you say no, you still see ads, but they are not based on your activity in other apps. You can change your answer in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Details are in the privacy policy.
I got a new phone. Will my stats come with me?
Your games and stats are stored on your device. They move to a new device when you restore it from an iCloud or computer backup of your old one.
Where can I learn the rules?
In the app, open How to play. On this site, read the Mexican Train rules.

How to delete your data
Your games, stats and score sheets are stored only on your device. To delete them:
- In the app: open Settings → Reset all data and confirm. This erases your games, statistics, streaks, saved house rules, score sheets and settings from this device. It cannot be undone.
- Or delete the app: press and hold the Roundhouse icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App. Everything the app stored on the device is removed.
Daily Deal ranking: if you've played a counted Daily Deal, open Settings → Privacy → Delete my Daily Deal data. This deletes your results and your anonymous ID from the server. Your games, stats and streak on the phone stay. Results are also deleted automatically after 30 days.
Feedback messages: they are deleted automatically after 12 months. To have yours deleted sooner, send a message with the contact details you gave or a few words from what you wrote.
Anonymous analytics and crash reports are not linked to you, so they can't be looked up by name. See the privacy policy for details.
